Hello summer with your 100 degree days, blackouts, high gas prices and huge electricity bills! Feel like you have absolutely nothing to look forward to? WRONG. The June CAPA Conference is in San Diego this year, and I hope you all got your brochures and are planning on attending. It is a wonderful event and an incredible experience to be a part of a huge group of your peers and to be able to do it in beautiful, cool, sunny, SAN DIEGO. I hope many of you are going to attend. This is a great opportunity to stack up those hours needed for your continuing education and to rejuvenate yourselves by spending time with a group of enthusiastic and totally wonderful fellow paralegals. Every year that I have attended the June conference I come away feeling very proud of my profession and awed by the time and energy put in to planning these conferences. Please come and experience this for yourself. Coming up on September 15th is the Lawyers Have Heart Walk/Run for the American Heart Association. There will be a 5K run and a two and four mile walk. If you did not participate last year, this is a great way to get involved in supporting not only our legal community but our community as a whole and getting our name out there. Heart disease is America's number one killer. And with our incredibly stressful jobs, this is the perfect cause for us to support. Please please please get involved in this worthwhile event. Our fall educational seminar will be held on October 20th this year at the San Joaquin College of Law. Please look for more information in this newsletter and in our next newsletter regarding the seminar. We are hoping for double the participation we had last year and again, it is extremely important for all paralegals to keep their education hours up in conformity with the new laws. Hope to see you all at the June meeting. Our lunch time meetings have been a huge success and we hope to keep that up!. We have a great speaker this month, Craig Fiegener of Channel 30 Consumer Watch. He is entertaining, educational and informative and I hope you all attend.
