Annual Bar Picnic

Just for Fun

Annual Bar Picnic

by: Pam Buchnoff

The Annual Big Bar Picnic held on Saturday, May 19th out at beautiful Coombs Ranch and was another big success. Again I sincerely thank all of those who attended and helped out! It was hard work but well worth the exposure it gave us in the legal community. My thanks to Charlene Bullock, Shawna Fell, Gael Storm and Sharon Warmuth and her Appleby Gang.

Along with the great barbequed steaks, hot dogs and hamburgers there was every other imaginable thing that kids and adults alike love to eat. There were squirt gun fights, free bounce houses, snow cones, and clowns doing face painting for the kids. For the big kids there was the dunk tank which had many esteemed "dunkees". And of course, the traditional DA's against the Public Defenders softball game.

This was a great time to get to see not only the lawyers you work for every day in an informal setting, but to meet their families. It was also a great opportunity to meet and see the Judges and their families in an informal setting, and some of them in very informal setting (like the dunk tank). Its amazing how much money an attorney will pay to have a Judge dunked in the water. I sure wouldn't want to be in the courtroom that first time after the picnic when that attorney comes before a certain Judge!! Talk about "contempt of court"!

All in all, everyone seemed to have a great time and we look forward to next years picnic.
