President's Message
by

Badigian
With the Holiday Season approaching at
lightning speed, it is time to mark your calendars to include your
association events. On October 9,
2004, we are co-sponsoring a seminar with the Fresno City College Student
Paralegal Association and are fortunate to have Judge Hilary Chittick
available to advise us of “Litigation Do’s & Don’ts”, in addition to
Attorney Mike Seng regarding “Causes of Malpractice Complaints”. I cannot
stress strongly enough how we all in the legal profession need to be aware
of these issues. Appleby & Company will be hosting a continental breakfast
for us starting at 8:30 and Mike Seng will begin his presentation at 9:00.
The seminar will be held at Fresno City College in the Business Division
Building, and for those of you not in the know, it is across from the
cafeteria. Signs will be posted as to which room. This is a wonderful
opportunity for you to obtain 2 MCLE credits as well.
For those of you who were unable to attend our
last General Meeting and the presentation by Richard Kern of Yohman, Parker,
Kern, Nard & Wenzel regarding “Subrogation 101”, Fresno Paralegal
Association has initiated its first issue of our “new library”. We will be
taping our guest speakers to preserve their wisdom and make the session
available to our members only for viewing at a later date.
On December 8th, we will be holding our
Holiday Social. This year we have decided to host the event at the Spectrum
Gallery in the Tower District. Further details will be forthcoming as to the
time and specific directions. Please hold this date open to come celebrate
the season with FPA. And with the
Holiday Season comes the time of year when we hold our elections for the
next year’s Board. If you are interested in holding any position on the
Board or feel someone would be a good candidate for a position, please
complete the enclosed form and either print it out and mail in, or you can
just email your nominations to me. This is the perfect opportunity for your
voice to be heard. So let’s hear it.
I hope to see you all at both the Seminar
and our Holiday Social. |
